Irene Sanchez

Irene is originally from the enchanted island of Puerto Rico. She had worked in numerous fitness Center as an Aerobics Instructor and a Personal Trainer since December 2000. Nu Lady of America, Lady of America, Olympus Fitness Club, Dorado Fitness Club, Ocean Park Fitness Club and Power House Fitness Club. Irene have being certified as an Aerobics Teacher, Step, Kickboxing, Aqua aerobics, Pilates, Spinning, Zumba and Personal Trainer. She graduates in 2005 with a Suma Cum Lauder, Bachelor Degree with concentration in Criminal Justice from the American University in Puerto Rico. She got a Athletic scholarship in Judo (Martial Arts). She also was the captain of the Judo team and 4 year gold medal of the (LAI) (University Competition). She obtained numerous awards for her athletic performance with the Judo National Team of Puerto Rico. In 2005 Irene got birth to her awesome son Julio Jirel and become a full time mom. So she retired for her athletic career. In May 2006 she moved to Rochester, with the intention to learn English. She worked for the Southwest YMCA and the JCC in Brighton as Zumba instructor and fitness instructor. Irene is currently working full time for the Research Foundation at the Suny Brockport. She still teaching Kickboxing at the JCC and know she will join the team of Bounce teaching Zumba. Irene is very excited to teach Zumba with us because the music and rhythm reminds her a little piece of loved Puerto Rico.
